Northwest Hills

MLS area 1A..also known as Northwest Hills…boundaries 2222 on the South…Mopac on the East, 360 on the West and the intersection of 183 & 360 in the North…Don’t think about building here, only a handful of lots exist & are expensive. Want to live in a city inside a city. This is Northwest Hills in a nutshell. It is like it’s own city with 2 grocery stores, schools, workout at the JCC, doctors offices, post office, restaurants, almost everything right in the neighborhood. So at 5 pm you can drive to the grocery store and not have to get on a freeway or fight a bunch of traffic. And you have great access to downtown on Mopac or hop on 183 or 360.
Northwest Hills is many different neighborhoods, with distinct styles and architecture. I can’t cover each one, but I will hit a number of them. You usually are walking distance to at least one of the four schools in the neighborhood. (two elementary, middle & high school)
Great Hills…the oldest section built in the 70’s & 80’s with homes on canyon rims & greenbelts.
Westover Hills…generally North of Anderson High School…traditional homes built in the 60’s & 70’s with lots of oaks…and nice size lots.
Between Spicewood Springs road & North Hills Drive…Want a one story on a pretty level lot, this is where I would start looking…one of my favorite parts of the neighborhood…large oaks shading quiet streets.
Cat Mountain…most of the homes were built in the 80’s but some are newer…lots of contemporary homes, many with views, some spectacular…Be prepared to pay for the view & because of terrain mostly multilevel homes…Not a place to try for a level lot. Got a bad or trick knee…this is not your neighborhood.
Vista West…Near where Valburn and Greystone intersect…Homes on Valburn have some of the nicest views anywhere around…& a few of the last vacant available lots are here.
Highland Hills…generally located between Mountain Climb & Mopac…most homes built in the 60’s & 70’s, with design from traditional to the contemporary. This is very hilly terrain, so there are a lot of custom homes here.
Green Trails…Very small area just off Hart and Spicewood Springs. Really just one large circular street for the main street with a number of cul-de-sacs off the circle. Very desirable area with many custom built homes by good builders.
Looking for a condo or a garden home? There are a number of these type properties available.
Price range is from the $300’s to over one million. Smaller condos are available for much less.
This is just a few of the many neighborhoods that make up North West Hills. This is by no means all of them.
